Locational Beer Names

Living in beautiful Bend, Oregon I have come to know good views and great beer. For most of the local breweries and micro breweries all over the country, naming a beer is something that has to mean something. After realizing that a lot of beer out here is named after locations around the area, I started going to these places that the beers are named after. This is a fun project to take on and will be a fun time.

Deschutes Brewery has been brewing the Black Butte Porter for nearly a quarter century. An icon symbol of the Central Oregon Cascades, Black Butte stands at an Elevation of 6,436 ft (1,962 m). Summiting the butte in winter is a fun climb that a lot of Central Oregonians enjoy. Usually covered in snow well into June, excellent views of the Cascades await those who brave the butte!
